We appreciate we set your design and build team a challenging timetable but at no point during the course of the project did we doubt that it would be delivered on time. "Over the last 7 months we have employed Margolis Office Environments to undertake the sensitive fit out and partial refurbishment of our new office property at Manchester Square in the West End of London. As a listed building we were anticipating the fit out would be sympathetic to the aesthetic qualities of its period whilst at the same time not losing sight of the fact that the space was to accommodate a modern business that would require to expand in the months ahead. "Grundberg Mocatta Rakison, an international law firm seized the opportunity to relocate the practice to a refurbished floor within the same building. The aim was to improve the working environment for staff, to present a refreshed professional image to clients and to use the same square footage more effectively to accommodate the growth in personnel in the firm. Margolis Office Environments was selected as our fit out contractors as their team clearly demonstrated an understanding of our brief, our aims, our culture and our legal environment. As we worked with their space planners, they suggested creative solutions to maximise the use of the space available which resulted in creating an additional 12 seats to fulfil an important part of the brief. Conscious that not every office would have natural light, we wanted a feeling of light to permeate the accommodation which was to be a combination of cellular offices for the lawyers and open plan for the support staff. The solution to use glazed walls where practical in the offices maximised the light which also reflected the firm’s open culture. The team understood the legal environment and the need for the storage of legal files, the design solution tripling the linear metres of storage. The 'turn-key' project was subsequently delivered within budget and on time during which we had all enjoyed working with the Margolis team. We were realistic in anticipating that there would be some “snags” as we moved into the new offices and we learned together the idiosyncrasies of the inherited air conditioning system. The Margolis team has been attentive in working with us to resolve those residual issues and they have continued to support us in maintaining our refreshed environment."
